Two teenagers were stabbed at a high school in Queens on Thursday afternoon and are expected to survive, police said.
The incident happened inside Martin Van Buren High School on Hillside Avenue at around 1:30 p.m, according to the NYPD. One 17-year-old boy was stabbed in the stomach, and another 17-year-old boy was stabbed in the stomach and shoulder, police said.
Both teens were taken to Cohen Children’s Medical Center, where they were reported to be in stable condition.
Police said one person was taken into custody, and an investigation into the incident remains ongoing.
The city’s education department did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
