28 Years Later and its planned sequels are getting a surprising update from producer Andrew Macdonald. Released in 2002, Danny Boyle's 28 Days Later The Rage Virus follows Cillian Murphy's Jim as he tries to survive after it starts turning British citizens into zombie-like creatures. After director Juan Carlos Fresnadillo's 2007 sequel to mixed reviews, Boyle is set to reteam with original screenwriter Alex Garland for the upcoming film. 28 Years Laterintended to serve as the first part of a new trilogy.
Now, Macdonald explains THR that 28 Years Later just finished filming. According to the producer, the production of the sequel is fast approaching. Check out his comment below:
“We're hoping to do three more 28 movies with the first one, 28 Years Later, which Alex wrote, Danny directed and finished shooting,” Macdonald said. “Then we'll actually start the second part tomorrow morning. And then we hope that there will be a third part and it will become a trilogy.”
