A Mandalorian Episode Made So Hard To Rewatch 4 Years Later

While I will count The Mandalorian being one of the most rewatchable Star Wars projects so far, I've found it hard to go back to a specific episode from season 2. With The Mandalorian being my personal favorite Star Wars In the project, I rewatched the series many times, especially the first two seasons. When rewatching, I prefer not to miss an episode, although the urge to catch up on my favorite episodes can make it difficult. While this isn't always difficult, one episode in particular gives me pause.

The Mandalorian season 2, episode 4 “Chapter 12: The Siege” takes us to Nevarro, where Carl Weathers' Greef Karga and Gina Carano's Cara Dune were last seen. The Mandalorian 1 season finale. However, there are a few behind-the-scenes factors that make it difficult for me to rewatch this episode.

Navarro's Crew Ain't The Same Anymore

Nevarro Trio Breaks Up After 2 Seasons

The most painful thing about rewatching this episode, at least for me, is seeing the Nevarro crew once upon a time. The MandalorianThe main cast of season 1. By the end of season 1, Pedro Pascal's Din Djarin, Cara Dune, and Greef Karga had all become unlikely but powerful allies, and it was a sweet reunion when the episode aired. But in the following years this group's relationship was filled with some awkwardness and tragedythis certainly affected the effect this episode had on me.

The first crack came when Carano was fired The Mandalorian and other Lucasfilm projects in early 2021, right after season 2 ends. Since then, she's sued co-stars Pascal and Weathers for using their social media posts against them, creating an awkward tension. The next fracture is more tragic, Weathers passed suddenly in February of this year. Although it's nice to have his legacy cemented inside forever The Mandalorianit still hurts to see her and her liveliness on screen.

The final element of this trio, at least for me, is Pascal himself – especially in this episode. As a very talented actor and my personal favorite to thank for playing this role, having Pascal in the Mandalorian's cast is priceless. Disney Gallery: The Mandalorian Season 2 confirms this Pascal was in costume for the majority of this particular episode, as he was in many episodes of season 2, and it shows in his portrayal.. It's hard to watch Pascal in a costume now, in the post-season 2 world, knowing that he rarely wears one anymore.

Another thing I miss about this episode is “Jeans Guy,” the famous crew member who was mistakenly in the background of the shot — which you can see in the gallery above.

The Rangers of the New Republic Establishment are pointless

This Obvious Setup Makes Me Nervous Knowing What Will Happen In The End

Carano's ouster didn't just affect the Nevarro trio and their relationship. It was also a major factor in the spin-off series Rangers of the New Republic eventually scrapped, set up in this episode The Mandalorian. There's an entire scene near the end of the episode dedicated to building a bridge between Captain Carson Teva and Cara Dune.where the former recruits the latter as a Marshal of the New Republic. This is meant to foreshadow his future role as protector of the New Republic, though now it's a reminder of things that never happened.

This was only the first wave of a wider ripple effect Rangers of the New Republiccancellation of Boba Fett Book, The Mandalorian 3 seasons and Ahsoka all seem to contain elements intended for this spin-off show, with one episode of season 3 focusing almost entirely on what is supposed to be a storyline in that show. It all started here, in this very obvious episode. This is hard to look back on, especially knowing that the series will never move forward and why.

It's Hard To Enjoy This Episode Knowing What We Know Now

These Behind-the-Scenes Matters Permeate the Episode's Impact

In general, I find myself too focused on all these behind-the-scenes issues and tragedies to enjoy sitting down and watching this episode. back. It's especially hard for me when religion flies back Razor Crestleaving us with Greef, Cara and Mythrol for a few minutes. All I can do is think about how none of these are The Mandalorian characters return to the galaxy, maybe one day except for Mithrol, and how this moment was meant to have more potential Rangers of the New Republic installation.
