It is one of the most important aspects Superman's character is that he is from two worlds. He was born into a wealthy and powerful family on Krypton, the House of El. But after Krypton is destroyed, he comes to Earth as a member of the Kent family, a family of Kansas farmers. But in a stroke of brilliance, DC's new Absolute Universe has merged the two origins into one.
The combination of Superman's upbringing was revealed in the upcoming Definitely Superman #1 by Jason Aaron and Rafa Sandoval. While the House of El are powerful scientists in the Prime Universe and near the top of society, that doesn't seem to be the case for the Ultimate Universe version of Superman.
In the Absolute Universe, it appears that Superman's parents are at the bottom of society, as shown by his mechanic mother Lara-El after she was banned from applying to a science academy for writing a paper criticizing Krypton's lack of space. intelligence. Jor-El's occupation is currently unknown, but it appears that the El family runs the farm together.

Definitely Superman is an Exciting Reinterpretation of Iconic Lore
Although Kal-El was born into one of the most powerful and respected families on Krypton, he never got to enjoy that privilege because he was just a baby and was sent to Earth when Krypton exploded. After arriving on Earth, Kal-El was taken in by the Kent family and given a solid upbringing. He had larger-than-life powers, but he was still a farm boy from Kansas. It seems that instead of receiving this upbringing on Earth, Superman will receive it on Krypton.
Little is known about Absolute Superman at the moment, but one of the major confirmed changes is that Superman did not grow up with the Kent family. He will come to Earth and grow up alone. This strongly implies that Superman will not be born as a baby because he will not be able to take care of himself. This means that every life lesson he starts with will come from the El familyKryptonian farmers. A brilliant way to combine two heritages into something new yet familiar.

Superman needs both histories to be Who he is
Kal-El's upbringing by the Kent family made him who he is, and in most interpretations of the story, he's always there to confide in them. Some storylines have toyed with the idea of Kents dying, which usually results in a less determined, darker Superman. The same could be true for the Absolute Universe: Superman never felt the tragedy of Krypton's loss on a personal level because he was a baby. But Absolute Superman will likely grow old enough to understand the loss of not only his planet, but the only family he has.
