Airline Passengers Responded to Alleged Domestic Violence Incident

American Airlines passengers intervened in an alleged domestic situation on a flight from Miami to North Carolina this week between a man and a woman seated in first class who appeared to be traveling together.

In the video shared on social media Age Times Reporter Arjun Singh reported Wednesday that several passengers and a flight attendant were seen gathered in the aisle next to the two seats at the front of the plane. At least two of the male passengers were heard yelling at the man.

One of the men was heard saying: “Don't touch her. I don't care. No, now. You suck.” A second man added: “Get your fucking hands off her now. If you touch her again, you'll be arrested.”

“That's ridiculous, you can't touch it,” the first man added.

Later, as some of the passengers began to return to their seats, the woman could be heard inaudibly trying to explain the situation to the group before being helped to another seat across the aisle. “No, you were not attacked,” he shouted at his traveling companion in response to her protests. “I put my hand over your mouth to make you shut up.”

“Something violent happened to me this evening. [American Airlines] Singh captioned the video on Flight AA 310 from Miami to Charlotte. “Several men jumped in to subdue another first-year man who was getting into an argument with the lady next to him.”

He added that although the plane arrived 26 minutes early, they would not be getting off the plane anytime soon.

In a follow-up video, Singh captured the scene of police officers boarding the plane from the tarmac. Several seated passengers are heard cooperating with one of the officers; one of them claims that he “got her pretty hard.” The officer then tells the passengers, “So this incident happened on the plane, it is outside our jurisdiction.”

It's unclear if any arrests were made, but American Airlines released a statement regarding the incident.

“Two customers traveling together got into a fight on American Airlines Flight 310 from Miami (MIA) to Charlotte (CLT) on October 2,” a spokesperson for the airline said. New York Post. “Local law enforcement intervened and escorted customers from CLT airport.”

“We do not tolerate violence and thank our team members for their professionalism in handling a difficult situation,” the statement said.
