Costco is a destination for everything from bulk groceries and household goods to whiskey and gold bars, as well as for the retail chain's popular food court. The beloved $1.50 hot dog meal alone has been attracting customers for almost 40 years. But some customers are shocked to learn what they're missing at Costco food courts in Canada.
This is thanks to a Reddit post that recently went viral; this post shows that the Costco food court in downtown Vancouver is now serving the California crab sushi roll. The accompanying photo shows food court menu items, including the $9.99 sushi roll, as well as the hot dog meal and several other items.
The poster also noted that this location is probably the busiest food court in Canada, is right across from the hockey arena and next to the football and soccer stadium, and is accessible without a membership.

While many users lamented the lack of sushi at Costco food courts in the United States, many focused on the image of chicken fingers and fries at the far right of the photo; which isn't a standard item south of the Canadian border.
“I was actually impressed with the chicken tenders and fries! I wish they had them at my Costco!” one user shouted, while another said: “How come we don't have chicken strips and fries in America?” he complained.
A few users likewise wondered whether the sushi roll was made with real crab. This was confirmed by a TikTok food influencer who visited the venue and stated that it was made with Pacific blue crab, Japanese sushi rice, avocado and cucumber.
“I never thought I'd see sushi in the Costco food court!” says Laura Ullock of Vancouver Finds. “An eight-piece California roll for $9.99 and they are pretty big!” He added, stating that it looks like it's just the Vancouver location for now.

Meanwhile, some Americans are still upset that Costco doesn't provide mayonnaise as a condiment, so it remains to be seen whether the chicken fingers and sushi dream will come to fruition.
