Umbrella Academy Season 4 brings an eventful conclusion to one of the most exciting Netflix series of recent years. The show has always thrived on different timelines, alien races, and dysfunctional sibling dynamics. The series focuses on the Hargreaves family, the story of adopted siblings whose mysterious births create a bond with the power to save or destroy the world. After three seasons of causing and fighting multiple apocalypses, the Hargreaves' story is finally over Umbrella Academy 4 seasons.
Season 4 changes everything from previous seasons. Umbrella Academy Season 3 ended in a new timeline where the Hargreaves had no powers, leading the characters to go their separate ways. Season 4 delves into this new timeline and how the siblings have changed without their powers. The set-up was interesting, and even though the show's final season had fewer episodes than the rest — 6 episodes versus 10 — the story never felt rushed.

The characters develop in interesting ways
Umbrella Academy Season 4 explores what has happened to the Hargreaves since the family split up at the end of season 3. Without their powers, the characters are left to deal with mundane tasks, which leads to a few funny scenes and sad moments early on. Despite the smaller episode count, it was exciting to see. Umbrella Academy It took time to focus on character development as much as the big action set pieces we've come to expect.
Finally, it was great to delve deeper into the character's role in this world and see Ben interact more with his old/new family.
Umbrella Academy Season 3 offered a counterpoint to the Hargreaves in the form of Sparrow Academy. This storyline caused Ben's version of the sparrow to stick around. It was a great decision because Ben has a big role in the last season of the show. Finally, it was nice to delve deeper into the character's role in this world and see Ben interact more with his old/new family. Umbrella Academy Season 4 gave each of its characters moments to shine before saying goodbye.
Every season Umbrella Academy with one notable exception, it rotated several members of the family into the greater spotlight. Aidan Gallagher's Five is always at the center of the season's biggest storylines, and as someone who thinks the character is the show's best, I was happy to see Five play a major role in season 4. Lila, Diego and Luther have the arcs that I enjoyed the most after five and Ben.
Newcomers Play Big Role in Umbrella Academy's Emotional Ending
While family continues to be the focus of the series, Umbrella Academy Season 4 has some great newcomers that help keep things interesting. Nick Offerman as Gene Thibodeau and Megan Mullally as Jean Thibodeau bring to life the quirky villains who play a central role throughout the season. The married couple lead the Keepers, a group that comes together believing that they are all living in the wrong timeline and even have the evidence to prove it.
The characters all get a chance to shine, some fan-favorite pairings are explored once again, and a very interesting dynamic flourishes between several characters as well.
David Cross' Sy Grossman plays a pivotal role in bringing the Umbrella Academy back together in a hilarious and unexpected performance. Victoria Sawal is instantly charming as Jennifer, a character that is key to season 4. Liisa Repo-Martell's Abigail Hargreeves is also returning to shake things up in season 4. Abigail is the wife of Reginald Hargreaves and lives in this timeline. Abigail and Reginald's different approaches to the Hargreaves sisters are among the high points of the season.
Although the season is shorter, Umbrella Academy Season 4 doesn't rush its story and gives the series a strong finale. The characters all get their time in the spotlight, some fan-favorite pairings are explored once again, and some very interesting dynamics flourish between several characters as well. Umbrella Academy's ending is epic, poignant, heartwarming, and above all, fitting. You're in for the action-packed, hilarious and emotional final season of the Hargreaves family's story.
