On Thursday, Pablo Policicchio, communications director for the Buenos Aires Ministry of Security, confirmed that Payne “jumped from the balcony” of the CasaSur Palermo Hotel in Argentina. Police were called to the hotel around 17:00 local time. Payne, who fell many stories from his room's balcony, was found to be still alive when authorities arrived, but he was pronounced dead at the scene a short time later.
