The Assembly has officially disbanded to become Marvel's New Champions
After being used by Hydra as a living weapon with no memory of their origins, the newest team of young heroes assert themselves as a whole new version of the Champions. Acting as founding members of the New Champions, the four-man group includes Captain Marvel, Moon Knight, Thor and Captain America's unauthorized sidekicks. After a brush with the Screamer Hangar, Liberty exits the Hydra program and finds Jessica Drew to save herself and her brainwashed teammates. After discovering that the outlaw Hulk sidekick Titan is an impostor, he fights Spider-Woman and emerges as heroes again.
First introduced as part of the New Champions variant series, which spotlights hypothetical partners and patrons for Marvel heroes, the Assemblymen aren't the only young heroes to make the leap from variant cover to official canon. Scarlet Witch and Robbie Reyes' legacy characters for Ghost Rider are still set to debut in stories unrelated to the events surrounding the Assembly, and Peach Momoko's Storm-inspired Maystorm appears in Earth-6160 Ultimate X-Men. After heading west to San Francisco to find her missing son, Spider-Woman uncovers the secret of the Assembly, and it looks like she'll be staying in the area for her next big arc as an Avenger. Jessica Drew will be a key member of the new West Coast Avengers starting again later this year. With four founders, New Champions is still based in San Francisco at the end Spider woman # 10 , they could potentially reconnect with the official hero mentor and his new team during the development of this series.
Given that 22 covers were created for the original variant series, including sidekicks for Blade, The Thing, Magneto, and others yet to be introduced, it's still possible that more legacy heroes will emerge and join the team. since Spider woman combines all four New Champions With Nick Fury at the end of their first arc, a strong group of young heroes has the potential to be new.
