Warning: Spoilers for Green Lantern #15Move over, Batmobile; Batman it has a high-tech new ride that puts the conventional mode of transportation to shame. Batman's latest technological prowess has surfaced in the most unlikely of places, and with his Flash-rivaling speed, he could be a valuable asset to the Dark Knight. However, its life-threatening downside prevents it from being as useful as it could be.
in preview for Green lantern #15 Jeremy Adams and Fernando Pasarin, Hal Jordan and Wally West set out on a mission to retrieve information from the Hall of Order. Amanda Waller needs her own vehicle to get to her destination after being disempowered by the Amazo Task Force. Luckily, Hal knows where to find Batman's top-secret hangar, which houses the prototype Bruce is working on. It turned out that this prototype will be called bat wormand it is a sight to behold.
It has the potential to be Batman's awesome new plane One of the fastest cars in the DC Universe – except for one major weakness holding it back.
Batman's “Batwolf” prototype is at risk of exploding
His Speed Comes at a Dangerous Cost
The Batwolf's design certainly looks cool, but it has a fatal downside that turns most pilots away. According to Hal, when it accelerates, it can explode. Correct: Batman's prototype plane is a death trap waiting to happen. Testing it would be fatal, so it was abandoned in a remote hangar. The Batwolf is so dangerous that Oracle intervenes to stop Hal from flying it, though Hal manages to dodge it and fly it. Green Lantern risks everything to board Batman's plane, and given what he's capable of, it's easy to see why he's willing to.
Batwolf may be flawed, but if Batman
can repair to fly without exploding, this may be his greatest invention.
While Batwolf is a liability for Batman, there's no denying that the reward can be worth the risk. Despite its tendency to explode, Batwolf has amazing speed that can put him on par with speedsters. As shown in the preview, he is fast enough to keep up with the Flash's new bike, which he uses during the Absolute Power event to make up for his lack of super speed. The Batwolf is a game-changing upgrade that allows Batman to travel at speeds he never thought possible. The best part is that Batman can have more cars hidden.
The Batwolf Can't Be Batman's Only Secret Weapon
Could Batman be hiding more prototypes?
The island Hal is on is said to be just one of Bruce Wayne's many islands, ie These other islands are likely to contain facilities that hold Batwolf-like prototypes. After all, while he's known for his fighting prowess, Batman's intelligence is often overlooked as his most impressive “superpower.” He's built an extensive arsenal of gadgets and vehicles, with the Batwolf being the latest in a long line of inventions, so it's reasonable to assume he's hiding more. Batwolf may be flawed, but if Batman can repair to fly without exploding, this may be his greatest invention.
