How you make the party is all down to you, but here are some compositions that are too fun to miss out on.

8 Barbershop Quartet

Baldur’s Gate 3 has many classes focused on helping out teammates, and Bard is one of the best. A class focused on charisma and wisdom, Bards use bardic inspiration and other spells to charm foes and inspire allies. Who wouldn’t want their own band playing music around town?

There’s just something so menacing about four gnome Barbarians running rampant through Faerûn. Sure, charisma might not be your forte, but who needs to talk when you’ve got all that strength?

Something about a group of three-foot gnome Barbarians carrying weapons as big as themselves seems too humorous to pass up. Gnomes also naturally have higher speed and are better at sneaking, meaning you’ll be taking enemies by surprise with those hard hits. You might not look very intimidating, but you’ll pack a pretty decent punch.

3 One With Nature

This party composition is all about becoming one with nature. Put optimisation to the side, forget about being the best of the best and embrace the gifts of nature.

Classes like Druid and Ranger will be great for summoning animal companions and beings of nature to accompany you on your adventures. Using the Way of the Four Elements subclass on Monk lets you keep in touch with the elements and can deal some decent damage in fights. An Archfey Warlock will round the team out nicely with its spells and cantrips.

2 Hard Hitters

Hard-hitting classes are a lot of fun if you enjoy getting straight into fights and don’t want to worry about tactics. A good Way of the Open Hand Monk build can put out a lot of damage with the right feats. Pairing that with a Fighter running the Battle Master subclass and a Barbarian will only increase those numbers.
