As an uncommon card, you’re more likely to come across the Blue Fairy. With a cost of two ink to play, she’s an easy character to establish early on when the game is just starting. She is Evasive, so only other characters with Evasive can challenge her when she’s exerted.
Additionally, she has Ethereal Glow, which allows you to draw a card whenever you play a Floodborn character. With the addition of Rise of the Floodborn, there are plenty of opportunities for this ability to be used. Building a deck that works around this mechanic will set you up for success.

Daisy Duck is another uncommon card that has a great ability in play. She gains two lore each time she quests, and each time she quests, each opponent at the table must choose a card to discard. In a two-player game, this is effective, but it really shines in multiplayer.
Having Daisy Duck in play early will enable you to make your opponents cycle through their cards. You’ll keep them on their toes while reaping the benefits of your Emerald deck. She only costs four ink to play, so she can be played relatively early compared to other cards.

The benefit to Christopher Robin is that you gain an additional two lore whenever he is readied and there are at least two other characters in play. It doesn’t matter what two characters, either, meaning you can easily keep two cost-effective characters on the board to get the bonus.
5 Madame Mim

Characteristics |
Floodborn Villain Sorcerer |
Madam Mim can be a dangerous addition to your opponent’s deck, so it’s best to include her in yours. With Shift, she can enter play before your opponent is ready to handle her, and she has decent defense. When you exert her, you can play a character with a cost of four or less for free.
That character gains Rush and will be banished at the end of the turn. This works well with several Merlin cards from Rise of the Floodborn, as his abilities activate when he is played and when he is banished. A strong strategy can make good use of the card.
4 Tiana

Tiana is a powerful addition to your deck. With a cost of four ink to play, she can be added mid-game to shake things up. With Resist two, all damage dealt to her is reduced by two, making her incredibly lucrative to quest with, as she’s not likely to be banished.
Additionally, What You Give Is What You Get keeps opponents from playing actions when Tiana is exerted and you have no other cards in your hand. This ability cannot be underestimated as you get into late-game tactics.
3 Cogsworth

He has another ability called Unwind, which grants each of your other characters Resist. Reducing the damage taken by one for each character is a powerful move, and it can stack on characters who already have Resist, making them even stronger.
2 Lady Tremaine

Floodborn Villain Queen |
Lady Tremaine is a formidable foe, especially when it comes to entering the game. When she is played, each opponent must choose and banish one of their characters on the board, leveling the playing field in your favor. She also gains two lore each time she quests.
With a cost of six, it’s worth the effort to utilize Shift and get her into play sooner than later. This can easily throw your opponent’s strategy off by forcing them to banish a character, especially in the early stages of setting up the game.
1 Cinderella
Stouthearted
Ink |
Steel |
---|---|
Rarity |
Super Rare |
Characteristics |
Floodborn Hero Princess Knight |
Cinderella has both strong defense and offense, which makes her a force to be reckoned with. Her high cost can be reduced by using Shift to play her for a cost of five instead atop another Cinderella card, though she’ll still enter play much later than most. However, she has Resist two, which means that damage taken is reduced by two.
With The Singing Sword, you’ll want to have plenty of songs in your deck. Whenever one is played, Cinderella can challenge ready characters in that turn, which can be devastating for your opponents.
