Black Cat's Poisoned Form May Be His Biggest Redesign Ever

Black Cat 's variant cover has undergone a symbiote makeup that mixes with Venom The Amazing Spider-Man #32. Released in October 2023, the cover reveals what could be the cat burglar's biggest redesign yet. Many of Marvel's iconic characters have become “Poisoned,” and Felicia is the perfect candidate for the process.

The Amazing Spider-Man #32 The creative team includes Zeb Wells, Patrick Gleason, Marcio Menyz and Joe Caramagna. The issue features the titular hero facing off against Kraven the Hunter and the Goblin Queen (not to be confused with Madeline Pryor's Goblin Queen). More interesting than the issue is Pablo Villalobos' variant cover for him.

The cover featuring Black Cat was a retail exclusive, but has the potential to be one of Felicia Hardy's best looks. While not the first Venomized version, it's still one of the best.

Symbiote Makeups provide Marvel Heroes and Villains with amazing looks

Marvel's Black Cat doesn't have much power in the traditional sense, but the powers he does have can become even more powerful if combined with a symbiote bond. Originally given to her by the Kingpin, Felicia has the ability of bad luck combined with the ability to change probability. This hasn't always worked out well for him, especially when it negatively affects his allies. Transitioning between a life of crime and an ally of Marvel's heroes, Black Cat's minimal powers will be enhanced by the symbiote bond and gain additional physical powers from the fusion..

Black Cat now maintains a black and white color scheme that suits the symbiote perfectly. One of the things that makes Poisoned Black Cat so interesting is that its basic appearance has been improved and it hasn't lost most of the features that make it easily recognizable. This concept has been featured several times in variant covers, including one by Mark Brooks Black Cat #2 (2019) and another by Guillem March The Amazing Spider-Man #16 (2015). Each of these has been exclusive to various events and stores, including: ComicXposure, Comic Sketch Art, 616 Comics, Unknown Comics, Comic Traders, and Fandom Comic Shop.

Felicia's on-and-off relationship with Spider-Man has always been strained by his love of masked life, impressive thieving skills, and badass aura. Adding the Venom symbiote to the mix could cause even more trouble between the two. Black Cat, given the chance to fuse with the symbiote, would be a much more ferocious foe to anyone he might encounter. He hasn't had many alternate looks for decades of his fur-trimmed black suit. Her biggest change came with her costume from the PS4 game, Spider man. Otherwise, his fashion is usually pretty lackluster compared to other Marvel characters.

Venom's make-up is bright, but at the same time exudes strength and beauty. Mark Brooks also designed variant covers featuring Anti-Venom and Carnage and Felicia for the same issue as the Venom makeover in 2019. Each symbiote twist shows how incredible it will look, with the potential to become a fan-favorite transformation. Black Cat A tie-in with Venom would be his best redesign since it keeps his signature color scheme but adds a fun, spooky twist.
