Brett Favre recently sat down for an interview TMZ SportsHe made a bold prediction about Aaron Rodgers and his upcoming season with the New York Jets.
Rodgers famously missed the 2023-2024 season when he tore his Achilles tendon in last year’s opening game. The legendary QB later called it a “lost year,” playing just three games.
But Rodgers' former Green Bay Packers teammate has different expectations for this season. “Say what you want about Aaron, he's arguably the best quarterback in the game right now,” Favre said. “He can make chicken salad out of chicken poop, for lack of a better term,” he added. “I've always said that when anyone asks me.”
Favre continued: “Now, he got injured last year and we know what happened to the Jets. But I think with their defense and Aaron being healthy, there's no reason why they can't compete for the AFC championship.”
Favre says the Jets have what it takes to steal a championship, but they need more confidence in their offense, and he thinks Rodgers can fill that gap.
“Their defense is phenomenal, they just need to score and have some confidence on the offensive end,” Favre reasoned. “They have the offensive weapons. He's going to do something. He just needs to stay healthy.”
Rodgers will make a (hopefully) triumphant return to the field when the 49ers host the Jets at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, California, on Monday night.
#BrettFavre tells @TMZ_Sports so much so that #AaronRodgers If he stays healthy this season — the Jets will contend for the AFC Championship.
