Brooklyn scaffolding collapse leaves 2 with ‘serious’ injuries, FDNY says

Two people were seriously injured on Tuesday after scaffolding collapsed outside a building in Brooklyn, the FDNY said.

Fire officials responded to the call at 1:54 p.m. outside of 148 Stuyvesant Ave., officials said. First responders removed two people from the scene and sent them to Kings County Hospital, where they were being treated for serious but not life-threatening injuries, the FDNY said.

The city Department of Buildings was also at the scene on Tuesday afternoon, officials said. A complaint involving site conditions endangering workers was filed for the address with the Buildings Department on Tuesday, according to the DOB database. The matter was being referred to the department’s construction safety enforcement, the complaint said.
