Case: Nearly 1000 Tourists Got Sick During Luxury Holiday

The lawsuit alleges that travelers who stayed there contracted infections such as shigella and salmonella, and some were bedridden throughout their trip.

“The relevant figures show that these are not isolated incidents. The fact that a significant number of people are still approaching us with similar first-hand accounts indicates a worrying picture that continues and shows no signs of ending,” he said.

“The people we represent rightly have some concerns about how these types of diseases emerge over such a long period of time,” he added. “Stomach disease can cause long-term health problems and even death, and it is feared it could end in tragedy if something is not done to address the underlying causes.”

56-year-old Cordelia Plummer is one of the tourists interested in this issue; because he noticed that the meals were mostly served uncovered and warm.

“What was supposed to be a two-week dream on a wonderful island turned into a holiday that Ian and I will now do our best to forget,” he said. “What started as a headache and feeling nauseous turned into the worst illness and diarrhea I've ever known. I think everyone has had nausea at one time or another, but I've never felt this sick.”
