In the last part of the program Conan O'Brien needs a friend In the podcast, he talked to host Tom Hanks about the actor's new movie Here. The film, which was not well received by critics and audiences, stars Hanks and Robin Wright as characters who age from their 20s to their advanced years thanks to the dubious magic of anti-aging technology. The film explores the untraveled paths in life and the possibilities that can be taken.
In keeping with the film's existential themes, O'Brien candidly shared the gnawing regret about his time as a writer. Saturday Night Live. O'Brien cut his teeth SNL for three seasons from 1988 to 1991 before moving to a writing position. The Simpsons. Of course, this was before she started her career as a late-night talk show host.
“I wish I could go back in time,” O'Brien solemnly told Hanks. “People always say there are no regrets, [but] I regret being so busy with this job. “I was so busy and I think I robbed myself of some of the fun I could have had.” Late Night the host reflected.
While the experience isn't exactly a lament, O'Brien doesn't feel like he's making it easy for himself. “I had a lot of fun, but I think I could have had more fun. And I think I could have written there a little longer if I hadn't put so much trouble into it for myself,” he admitted.
“I got burned. I was exhausted,” O'Brien admitted. “And [Lorne Michaels] It couldn't have been more beautiful. This was a few years before he contacted me. Late Night to show. But I was exhausted and thought, 'I have to go,' and that's when I went there. The Simpsons.”
But O'Brien couldn't last long The Simpsonsany. Michaels kept asking him to consider hosting Late Nightand in 1993 O'Brien accepted the job. He hosted the show until 2009, when he briefly took over. The Tonight Show From Jay Leno.
