Almost a full year after his last round layoffsCryptic Studios is letting go of more staff. Various workers on LinkedIn revealed that they have been affected and will no longer be at the studio after October 31st.
The exact number of dismissals is unclear, but the character of the artist Amelia March he said, “and many of my talented colleagues have been affected by the most recent layoffs at the company. […] I truly wish all the best to my fellow Cryptonians and everyone in the gaming industry at large who is facing the same thing.”
“I will be leaving Cryptic Studios at the end of this month,” the senior artist wrote Maurizio Tejerina. “I am part of a layoff along with other talented people who have become like family to me over the past 10 years.”
Cryptic's impending layoffs were further confirmed by the art director Thomas Brownwho lamented that “wonderful people have been let go, through no fault of their own. I have worked with some of them for over a decade and their loss will be deeply felt.”
THE Never winter AND Star Trek online the studio is owned by Embracer. Last year's cuts were made as part of a larger project restructuring effort at the company, though it's unclear why it began cutting Cryptic's staff this time around, and whether other studios will soon face reductions as well.
Earlier this week, Frost developer Tequila works letting go of a “small amount” of staff after canceling a project they were working on to prioritize another.
