A cyclist in Milwaukee went for a leisurely ride on Tuesday, Aug. 27. But what was supposed to be a fun ride turned into a near-death experience.
A front doorbell camera captured a large tree falling across the roadway in a Milwaukee neighborhood during a storm, knocking down a nearby power line and sending sparks into the air.
Just seconds later, the video shows a cyclist unable to slow down in time to avoid hitting a fallen tree. Fortunately, he escaped serious injury, thanks in part to his speed at the time of the accident.
If the tree had fallen a moment later, the cyclist would have found himself in extreme danger. Watch this:

One resident described his terrifying experience to local media.
“It shook the earth,” said Fred Powers WISN.com“All the roots. I'm telling you, I heard an explosion; it shook the whole house. It knocked out all the power.”
I hope this serves as a reminder to check the weather reports before heading out.
