Cyclops officially named the X-Men with the highest death toll

Before Krakoa's miraculous Resurrection Protocols X-Men and other mutants still had a way to die and come back to life. Heroes like Jean Gray are especially famous for their many appearances and returns, but now Cyclops has officially announced which of the X-Men escapes the death roll more often: Baby Omega. After dying as a teenager and racking up dozens and dozens of deaths during his tenure with X-Force, Quentin Quire wins the prize.

X-Men #1 by Jed MacKay, Ryan Stegman, Marte Gracia and Clayton Cowles marks the team's fresh start after the fall of Krakoa, the war with Orchis, and a mutant species struggling to figure out its next steps. Cyclops once again steps up as the leader, but his current group is a bit unconventional. Quentin Quire sits in its ranks, relieved of his painful role in the Sabretooth War.

Kid Omega has a lot of complaints as the team embarks on a particularly dangerous rescue mission, which leads to Scott revealing that Quentin has”died more than any other mutant” and you have to get used to the possibility of it happening again.

Kid Omega won the award for “Most Deaths” among the X-Men

Quentin Quire isn't the mutant most associated with Life and Death, but he's been inextricably linked to Xavier since his early days at his school. His first death was caused by abusing the drug “Kick” (which apparently still affects his memory). He ascended to another plane of existence until his body regenerated, which eventually locked him into a long cycle with the Phoenix he would adopt at various points. His ongoing Phoenix connection may partly explain why death never sticks, even when it's necessary.

Still, his time with X-Force on Krakoa earns him the not-so-coveted “most deaths” award. Countless X-Force missions have resulted in Quire's death, and Quentin has often used his resurrection to make cosmetic changes to his body. Later, a high-stakes battle with Cerebrax even erased his records from Cerebro, making it impossible to revive him. Nothing can keep QQ away forever, and Quentin has finally returned as an old man from the future. It didn't do the trick, nor did it extinguish his disembodied head when the gateways exploded and he was chased by the Sabretet army. Killing Kid Omega isn't necessarily difficult, but death seems to be temporary at best.

Death still affects Kid Omega

Quire's last brush with the reaper ended when all the dead mutants returned from the White Hot Room, but frequent deaths took their toll on him. He experienced lapses in his memory from the Protocols, which made him feel less whole, and he recently admitted that Kick also exacerbated his memory loss. He's lived and lost more than his ongoing smart mouth and attitude, and dying over and over has helped make him human. more of a thinking, thinking person – even if it comes at a cost. Baby Omega died more than his colleague X-Menand the cycle shows no signs of stopping.
