ProbablyMonsters employees report that the studio is eliminating roles in the wake of a recently canceled project. Senior Technical Artist Mic Marvin stated that “around 50” workers and level designers were laid off in total Ed Byrne he said these eliminations were focused on Battle Barge's internal team.
“On the anniversary of Bungie's first layoff,” he said, “it looks like ProbablyMonsters has followed suit with the Battle Barge team.”
According to the senior environmental artist Carol T.this is the developer's third unannounced project to be scrapped. Many of these reductions seem to be focused on the art team: the 3D character artist Tamara Corbett and 3D character animator Dalton Downing they were also hit.
Earlier this year, ProbablyMonsters added the Bungie alum Chris Opdahl to lead Hidden Grove in the development of an unannounced multiplayer project. In 2021 the studio has grown A financing of 250 million dollars to strengthen its various development teams.
