Disney's upcoming Lorcana set will feature cards that allow players to use the Shift keyword without paying the ink cost.
Disney Lorcana is a collectible card game published by Ravensburger in which players build and use decks with cards based on characters, songs, and references from throughout the studio's animated history. Each player will have to build or use a pre-made deck of 60 cards against one or more opponents, with the goal of being the first to collect 20 cards.
To play cards, players must spend ink from their inkwell, which contains cards that players have placed there. Each card will be associated with one of the six available ink colors, and players may not include more than two types of cards of different colors in their decks. Cards are also divided into different types: they include characters, songs, objects, actions, and places.

Typically, the Shift keyword allows players to place a more powerful version of a character on another (qualifying) card for a cheaper ink cost than paying full ink price for the character, as well as immediately putting that character into a ready state. However, the upcoming set for Disney's game, Ursula's Return, will feature cards that allow players to switch out their characters without paying an ink cost. (Thanks Comic Book.)
One of these cards is Ursula, Eric's Girlfriend: an amber-colored card that costs four ink to play on its own. However, its Shift keyword allows players to discard a song card to play on top of any already-played card named Ursula. This card, whose Vanessa's Design ability allows players to force an opponent to discard a non-character card whenever they quest, has the potential to be very easy to play if placed into a deck containing a lot of song cards.
Other cards found in the Ursula Returns set that feature this new take on the Shift keyword include Flotsam & Jetsam, Entangling Eels, which is a five strength/five health card that requires two cards to be discarded; Diablo, Devoted Herald, a card that requires players to discard an action card; Li Shang, Valorous General, and players must discard a character card in order to shift it; Olaf, Carrot Enthusiast, a Sapphire card that can be shifted by discarding an item card; and the steel card Aladdin, Brave Rescuer, which requires a location card to be discarded in order to shift it.
Disney Lorcana – The Return of Ursula will be released in hobby shops from May 17th and in general retail from May 31st.
