But with the good must also come the bad. Fights would be boring if there wasn’t a way to lose, after all. Regular Status Effects, Explained

There are five main status effects in Super Mario RPG:

  • Poison
  • Silence
  • Fear
  • Sleep
  • Down

Each of them affects Mario and his friends in unique and troublesome ways. Fortunately, there are simple methods to cure most of these conditions.

You can prevent a character from being affected by these effects at all by wearing certain gear, such as the Safety Badge, Antidote Pin and Fearless Pin.
