The weekend death of Philadelphia Union goalkeeper Holden Trent sparked an outpouring of condolences across the sports world. On October 27, the family of the 25-year-old deceased announced that he would be able to help people even after his death.

Trent's family and the Philadelphia Union have not released the cause of death. Trent played for local teams North Carolina Fusion U23 and Charlotte Independence before joining Major League Soccer with the Philadelphia Union in 2022.
