Lake Como has become a popular tourist destination in recent years, thanks to its picturesque Italian mountains and magnificent houses and buildings. Visitors come to Como hoping to find some peace and quiet with them. Now they can bring some of the Como experience home – for a fee, of course – and use their senses to return to the city whenever they want.
Accordingly NBC Newstourists can now purchase sealed cans of “Lake Como air” from various parts of the region. The product was created by communications company ItalyComunica and contains “13.5 ounces of pure air from the world's most beautiful lake,” according to the product's website. A box will set you back around €9.90, or about $11.
“[It’s] “A luxury souvenir sealed in a box, perfect for those who want to rediscover the peace and elegance of this corner of paradise,” the site reads. “Open it when you need an escape, tranquility or just beauty.”
You won't be able to buy it online, so you'll have to travel to the Lake Como area yourself to purchase a box in person to take home. It is sold at the Libreria Ubik and Le Soste al Mare restaurants in Como, as well as Edicola Ruffini in Menaggio and Wonderland L'emporio delle Meraviglie in Lenno.
With the future of clean air in jeopardy in many parts of the world, these refreshing innovations could one day become valuable treasures.
