Fat Joe's greatness has been a part of his name and identity since he began rapping more than two decades ago. But the Bronx-born rapper has slimmed down in recent years — by his own estimate, he's lost nearly 200 pounds — leading some to question how Fat Joe became the not-so-fat Joe.

“We try to eat everything with as few carbs as possible,” the 54-year-old actor said. “So we try to stay away from bread, pasta, rice. It's the smartest way to eat.”
He acknowledged the nutritionist-approved truth that carbohydrates are still essential for a balanced diet, so controlling your portions is critical to your success. “I had breakfast this morning, I ate this toast. I cut off the corner, ate it, and made it move,” he explained. “Normally, I'd eat it all. But, you know, that's what we're doing. We're cutting out carbs and trying to be smarter.”
Thanks to Ozempic, it not only cuts carbohydrates but also suppresses appetite. “Ozempic says you can only have two pieces of your favorite things,” he joked. As his rep noted to TMZ, Fat Joe suffered from diabetes, a condition that Ozempic was originally designed to treat.
Don't expect the Fat Joe nickname to go anywhere anytime soon. “My wife would kill me. She likes me being a big boy,” the rapper said about a possible name change to fit his new look. he said. “He hallucinates like I'm still that big kid. He loves it.”
