After months of speculation and teasing, Fortnite has finally entered its fifth Chapter, which brings with it a ton of different gameplay and map changes (although not all of them have been received so positively). The Battle Royale mode isn’t the only thing that’s been affected, however, as three big new modes have been added to the game – Lego Fortnite, Rocket Racing, and Fortnite Festival.

Fortnite Adding Peter Griffin Is The Beginning Of The End

Epic Games has made it clear that absolutely nothing is off the table.

Of course, with these new modes comes the opportunity to be sold more items in the Item Shop. Fortnite Festival has a bunch of music tracks you can purchase for the mode, while Rocket Racing has some car skin bundles that can be bought and then used in both Battle Royale and the new racing “experience”.

Although that sounds simple enough and is hardly new for Fortnite, players have expressed disappointment in the surprisingly high cost of the Rocket Racing items in the store. The first and most egregious is the Diesel Bundle, which costs 4,000 V-Bucks (which will run you back at least £27) and gives you a new car skin and some patterns that can be applied to it. There are also two other bundles that cost 2,500 V-Bucks, which will be £17.49 each.

Considering most Fortnite cosmetics cost around 1,500 V-Bucks, one bundle that only contains a car skin and some decals that can be put on it being priced at 4,000 V-Bucks has annoyed some players, who think that it’s a bit too much to ask for such a small amount of content, especially when it’s not for the main Battle Royale mode that most play Fortnite for.

Reliable Fortnite insider iFireMonkey claims that the individual pricing for each car is supposed to be around 250 V-Bucks, so it’s not clear why the price has been raised so much for some decals and colours. The backlash towards the price might cause some kind of change in the future, but for now it looks like your only option is to pay nearly £30 or stick with the default cars.
