Frankie Valli Responds After Video Raises Health Concerns

Ninety-year-old music legend Franki Valli alarmed fans and received backlash from his team after he appeared visibly frail and in distress during a concert near San Jose, California, on August 3.

Valli's performance at Mountain Winery in Saratoga was marred by what many described as a worrying display from the Four Seasons frontman. In a clip posted to X (formerly Twitter), a dazed-looking Valli is seen standing just offstage as the crowd applauds his anticipated entrance. Valli stands, holding onto a railing and looking down at the floor until the band begins playing their 1978 hit “Grease,” at which point he quickly makes his way inside and takes his place on stage.

Immediately, Valli tries to lip-sync convincingly. At one point, when she looks down at her feet again, her lips don't appear to be moving. A heavily edited version of the viral clip ends with footage of a separate concert Valli gave “months ago,” where she once again tries to lip-sync.

Despite his erratic appearance, Valli's representatives released a statement New York Post He assured fans that the musician was “doing well.”

“Frankie is doing great and is so happy to still be performing,” the statement reads. “Audiences are filling venues and listening to great music. Frankie is doing what he loves at 90. We should all be so lucky.”

Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons are currently on a farewell tour called The Last Encore, which was announced last October. The Last Encore is expected to conclude in April 2025. When the tour was announced, Valli said in a statement that he “always loves touring and can't wait to get the fans back on the road.”
