in an exclusive interview with Screen Rantproducers Angela Russo-Otstot and David Weil discussed plans to make more of the show from within the universe. Some will also happen at completely different times. Check out their quotes below:
Screen Rant: Given that these are different time periods, can these new stories stand on their own, or are they really stand-alone stories or chapters?
David Weil: They can go on. I think that's the beauty of this whole great experiment we're doing with Citadel. We can go back and forth in time; we can learn new things about a character in the past that informs the future, or something we can see the fruition of the past in the future. We are open to all of these.
Screen Rat: As the timeline potentially expands, and even early in the process, how far do you plan to go, and what locations might be focal points for the next stories we see?
David Weil: We're always dreaming, and what excites us are the incredible characters and the actors who come to play those characters. [If] we fall in love with a character from their show, it inspires us, “Oh, can we get them here?” We're always thinking about these things, but right now we're really excited to bring these two shows to the world and work on season 2 of Citadel US.
Screen Rant: I have to ask, because it really captures my imagination when you point to the beginnings of the Citadel organization, will we ever see it? Or is this too far in the past?
Angela Russo-Otstot: Oh, that would be fun to see. And obviously, we are willing to accommodate different timelines.
