Governors Ball Music Festival announces lineup for summer 2024

Post Malone, The Killers and SZA will headline this year’s Governors Ball Music Festival, organizers said Tuesday.

The festival, which is now in its 14th year, will run from Friday, June 7, through Sunday, June 9, at Flushing Meadows-Corona Park.

Other performers will include Carly Rae Jepsen, Peso Pluma, 21 Savage, Tyla, and Renée Rapp, who stars as Regina in the new “Mean Girls” movie.

It is the second year the festival will take place at Flushing Meadows-Corona Park, where it relocated following a two-year stint at Citi Field.

The festival takes its name from Governors Island, where it was first held in 2011.

“I’m thrilled to welcome everyone back to Flushing Meadows-Corona Park for this year’s Governors Ball,” said Queens Borough President Donovan Richards Jr. in a statement.

“We’re deeply grateful for the economic activity the festival will generate for Queens, and we’re even more grateful that the festival is partnering with some of our local nonprofits,” he added.

Those nonprofits include Chhaya, a nonprofit dedicated to housing justice; and the Elmhurst/Corona Recovery Collective, which aims to help the community recover from the effects of COVID-19; according to Richards.

For some festivalgoers, the event’s food vendors are as big a draw as its musical talent.

“To hell with the music, we’re going to Governors Ball to get fed,” wrote one Gothamist reporter in 2017, ticking off a list of food vendors that included Luke’s Lobster, Big Mozz Sticks, Airstream burgers and more.

Organizers said that food vendors from the Queens Night Market will return to the festival this year.
