Enter the ocean at your own risk. In a newly released online video, a giant great white shark recently tried to take a bite out of the side of a fisherman's boat.
The video looks like a scene from the 1975 classic JawsA giant great white shark approaches a fishing boat on the Sunshine Coast, Australia's coastal resort town famous for its water sports.
A great white shark, commonly called a “white pointer” in Australia, tries to take a bite out of the side of a boat.
“Biggest shark I've ever seen in my life! Easy 5-foot great white shark, getting a little taste of Renegade,” said Jayden Grace and his friend Joe Cook, 10 First News.
The video then shows stunning underwater footage of the great white lingering nearby for a few moments before swimming off in another direction. The shark's bite left a distinctive mark on the side of the fisherman's boat.

While the video may cause some to rethink their time in the ocean, it’s important to remember that shark attacks are extremely rare. On average, there are fewer than 10 deaths worldwide from shark attacks each year.
