This is so weird. Rarely left in the shadows when it comes to Halloween, this year Heidi Klum revealed her annual costume for the titular character of the 1982 movie: ET: Extraterrestrial. Although it was undoubtedly quite impressive, unfortunately his timing was not. Klum's costume hit the internet just a day after Janelle Monae revealed her own ET transformation.
On Thursday night, Klum hosted her 23rd annual Halloween Party at the Hard Rock Hotel New York: The Venue on Music Row. The model was joined by her husband, Tom Kaulitz, who arrived at the premiere in a matching ET outfit. Klum is known for her elaborate and meticulous Halloween costumes, but her take on the beloved alien immortalized in Steven Spielberg's classic was extraordinary even for her.

The costume was attached with a separate headpiece with a glowing fingertip and movable eyes and mouth, operated remotely by one of Klum's entourage. Because the outfit was so complicated (Klum started getting ready for the evening event at 11 a.m.), the 51-year-old decided to wear adult diapers to avoid annoying costume changes.
“Maybe I'll never have to wear diapers, but at least I won't have to think about it,” Klum said. New York Times. He was drawn to the costume not only because of his nostalgia for the movie, but also because of the message the aliens brought with them. “They don't have genitals,” Klum said of the film's representation of aliens. “I like the idea that we are all the same.”

Klum reportedly came up with the costume idea shortly after her last Halloween party, but it's unclear whether she knew before this week that Monáe was planning a version of the same outfit. Hidden Shapes Star commented on ET on: The Jennifer Hudson Show On October 30th.
