The The Ultimate Universe debuted a new version of She-Hulkand radically reinvented the character in the process. Not only did the publisher introduce a completely different take on the character's origin, but he also brought with him an astonishing “Hulk Army.”
The Ultimates #3 Deniz Camp and Juan Frigeri follow the eponymous team as they discover an island horribly altered by gamma radiation at the Pacific Test Sites, an area of this universe controlled by Bruce Banner. The characters Iron Lad, Thor, and Lady Sif make their way through the island battling gamma-irradiated wildlife until they finally meet the island's guardian, She-Hulk.
Meet Marvel's New Ultimate She-Hulk: Lejori Zakaria
This version of She-Hulk Lejori Joena Zakaria, an island resident who was exposed to gamma radiation as a child along with the rest of the island by this universe's version of Bruce Banner. Although the citizens of the island refused to allow Banner to drop the bombs, he did so anyway, leaving the citizens to live under the rubble. As a result, Lejori and the other inhabitants, along with the rest of the island, changed under the influence of gamma radiation.
Lejori serves as the island's protector as the island's remaining inhabitants are irradiated by Bruce Banner's gamma experiments. Unfortunately, the gamma radiation proved fatal to many residents, leaving them in agony and requiring Lejori's protection.

As its main counterpart, Lejori has super strength and enhanced durability. In addition, he is similar to the Bruce Banner of this universe due to his intelligence while in gamma mutated form. Although his friends and family are sickened by the gamma radiation, Lejori stands out as an outsider because he has grown stronger as a result. These abilities, his intelligence, and his anger towards Banner make him a powerful ally for the Ultimates.
Lejori Joena Zakaria is a radical reinvention of She-Hulk for the Ultimate Universe, continuing the trend of the Ultimate Universe's altered history, with dramatic consequences for everyone inside. His story and character reflect the world-building of this universe and serve to further emphasize the necessity of The Ultimates' mission to fix the world. As he joins the Ultimates and helps them in their fight against the Maker Council, he will no doubt be a rich addition to the team.
