For years, the most popular stability running shoes have been the Asics Gel-Kayano, Brooks’ Adrenaline GTS, and even Saucony’s Guide. But when Hoka introduced the Arahi in 2017, the game changed forever. The brand, now synonymous with lightweight running shoes and soft underfoot cushioning, has made stability running shoes feel even better and has been making waves ever since. And while the Arahi’s seventh iteration just came out this year, Zappos is offering a surprising and very rare discount—the first we’ve seen for this model.
The Hoka Arahi 7 is currently on sale for $116 at Zappos — a 20% discount off its regular $145 price tag. Despite being a newer model, these stability shoes have garnered more than 150 five-star ratings from shoppers, one of whom said they’re “so much better than my previous Brooks.” Only one color—Blanc De Blanc/Virtual Blue—is on sale, but it’s a nice neutral that’s great for everyday wear, and the full lineup, from sizes 7 to 14, is still up for grabs. For those who need a roomier model, Hoka’s Gaviota 5 is another great stability shoe, and it’s 20% off a similar color at Zappos.

While its predecessor was a big hit with runners who over-pronate, the Arahi 7 comes with some minor upgrades. This model features a flat-knit upper that provides slightly better grip in the midfoot and a thicker tongue with double gussets to prevent it from moving as you run. Other than that, the shoe remains largely the same, which is a good thing. It still features Hoka’s J-Frame technology, a system designed to support the natural inward rolling of overpronation, and there are still carefully placed rubber inlays on the sole to help reduce wear and tear without overcorrecting your gait. And in true Hoka fashion, it comes with a well-cushioned midsole for adequate shock absorption.
Those who have tried the new Arahi 7 say they have the comfort you expect from Hoka’s running shoes. “I have big flat feet and I walk a lot for my job,” one shopper began. “These are the best pair of sneakers I’ve ever owned.” “As an older runner, you need good support and cushioning. The Arahi 7 delivers in spades and gives me a very supportive run without feeling bulky or bulky,” another shopper agreed.

Others compared their Arahi 7s to other brands they've tried, and found them to be a superior stability shoe overall. “It's a stark contrast to the ridiculous cuts of other brands like Asics, Saucony, and Brooks,” one shopper said. “I didn't realize what was missing from having a shoe with a wider width and good cushioning,” another shopper who jumped ship from Nike said.
If your foot shape or natural gait needs a little more support when walking or running, the Hoka Arahi 7 should be at the top of your shopping list. Just make sure to get your size as soon as possible, as the discount isn’t guaranteed to last forever.
