How Catwoman joined the bat family after being declared an official enemy

Warning! Spoilers ahead for Batman #149!After going through hell, Batman is finally ready to bring a former member of the Bat-Family back into line. Bruce Wayne has had a lot of ups and downs in his life lately and now he looks at his life with a much needed sense of clarity.




Amidst the chaos of traversing multiple universes and dealing with his distorted backup identity, Batman turns against those he loves in Gotham War. The incident sent shockwaves through the crime-fighting team and nearly destroyed one of the Dark Knight's closest relationships. But now that things are finally settled, Batman is ready to make amends with someone he truly cares about.

In Batman #149 By Chip Zdarski, Steve Lieber, Michelle Bandini, Nick Filardi, and Clayton Coles, Bruce Wayne tracks down Zur-En-Arr's Robin (a clone made from Bruce's DNA) and returns him to Batman's brownstone. The Caped Crusader discovers that his clone has died due to Zur-En-Arrh artificially aging the young man, but offers no way to stop it. Batman decides to save Robin's life and thankfully stumbles upon the cash left behind by Zur-En-Arrh. Batman spends weeks trying to save his clone's life no good.


Batman tells Catwoman that his new mansion could be a fresh start for both of them.

After Bruce's clone passes, he gathers members of the Bat-Family to meet him in Old Gotham. While renovating a dilapidated mansion, Bruce informs his team of a plan to revitalize the area with his newfound funds. Not only does he get a lot of money to create affordable housing and green spaces for the city, but he also builds a new home for Batman's bat-family, Pennyworth Manor. Although not as large as Wayne Manor, Batman promises that there is a home for everyone in the team's new base.


Batman puts his clone to rest at the new property as Catwoman arrives. The two caught up and laughed at the strange happenings in their lives. In “Gotham War”, which Selina accepts, Bruce apologizes for everything that happened between them. Batman tells Catwoman that his new mansion could be a fresh start for both of them. Although Selina rejects Bruce, he accepts Batman's offer to see what he has planned for the future of Gotham City.

Batman and Catwoman are no strangers to drama, but all of Gotham felt the effects of their latest tiff. After the events Knight Terrors (immediately after the multiverse) Bruce fell into a deep sleep that lasted for weeks. When he wakes up, he discovers a radically different Gotham, one where Gotham's biggest villains are on the prowl and street crime is at an all-time low. The driving force behind this change? A new plan by Catwoman that remakes Gotham's minions to a professional cat burglar.

Instead of helping Gotham's biggest bad guys, Catwoman's network targeted the elite, leading to a significant drop in crime. All Selina asked was for the Bat-Family to look the other way. Most of Gotham's heroes agreed that the effort should at least be studied, but Batman strongly opposed it and vowed to bring down Catwoman and her associates by any means necessary. Unbeknownst to everyone, Batman's emotions were being manipulated by Zur-En-Arr, who wanted to isolate Bruce. from the bat family.


Bruce did everything in his power to dismantle Selina's operation, and this created a serious conflict between the two. However, when Vandal Savage takes over Selina's network of thieves as part of his plan to restore her immortality, Batman and Catwoman are forced to team up with the rest of the Bat-Family. Savage lands a meteor that would have leveled Gotham had it not been stopped by Red Hood. unfortunately Batman and Catwoman parted ways at the end of the episode, leaving much of their tension unresolved..

What does the future hold for Batman and Catwoman?

Batman and Catwoman are together for the first time since that big conflict. Thankfully, since the two last met, Bruce has cleared his mind of Zur-En-Arrh's influence and is thinking clearly for the first time in months. It's a shame it took so long, but intense drama just comes with the territory of Bruce and Selina's relationship up to this point. Of course, Catwoman draws a line at rekindling any romance. but he and Batman are finally on solid ground once again.


…at the end of the day, Bruce loves Selina with every fiber of his being.

It's great that the two are finally settling their differences, because Batman is going to need Catwoman more than ever. Absolute Power It's come to the DC Universe and Amanda Waller is down. The first issue featured Waller's coordinated attack on the DC Universe's superhumans, and while Batman hasn't been officially captured yet, he's on his own. But the requirements for the future Batman issues revealed that the Dark Knight had taken the fight to Waller and that Catwoman will help Batman.


Unfortunately, there's nothing to indicate what's on the outside Absolute Power. However, this issue makes it clear that Batman and Catwoman will always be close allies despite everything that happens between the two. They can hurt each other, sometimes they can find each other on the opposite side. But at the end of the day, Bruce loves Selina with every fiber of his being. He might have been a little confused thanks to Zur-En-Arrh, but Batman and Catwoman finally take their first steps towards building something again.

Batman and Catwoman have seen the best and worst of each other. While fans may not expect to hear wedding bells anytime soon, this is a great development for Selina and Bruce. It's clear that Batman wants to do better for all the people he cares about, including Catwoman. I hope readers get to see more of Catwoman with the Bat-Family now. Batman finally he opened the door to her again.
