How to Find (and Use) Prop Toms in LEGO Fortnite
While exploring the Lost Isles in LEGO Fortniteplayers will want to find and use Tomes: readable books that unlock new Runes and Prop plans. Runes are extremely useful for improving weapon stats and adding buffs, while the new Prop plans provide a bit of flair for new items and decorations for settlement builder buffs. However, Toms are quite difficult to find.
To engage in this new content, players must board the Battle Bus and travel to the Lost Isles. There are two different types of Tomes: Klombo Rune Tomes and Klombo Prop Tomes. Rune Tomes provide new weapons and Runes items, while Prop Tomes provide new construction items. However, the two Tome types can drop from different locations, so players must research far and wide.

Find recipes for weapons and items
The best way to find Rune Tomes quickly is to find and loot gold chests in the Floating Islands biome.
Rune Tomes only drop from chests on Floating Islands and drop 100% when chests on Floating Islands are looted. Thanks to LEGO Fortnite using random world seeds, it's impossible to provide specific locations for gold chests, but they're generally easy to spot and scattered throughout this biome.
To reach the Floating Islands, either approach them using collected materials, build a Balloon Platform, or find a geyser and use it to launch it into the air. Equipping the glider is also highly recommended, as it's a great way to navigate between the various floating islands.
Based on some quick tests I did on LEGO Fortnite world, Rune Tomes do not drop from defeated enemies or from chests in enemy bases such as Pirate Towns. So the only way to get Rune Tomes seems to be by looting the chests on the Floating Islands. Rune Tomes unlock a single random Rune recipe when read.
Unlocked runes may appear randomly when players roll for Runes in the Rune Forge. Runecrafting in LEGO Fortnite Includes setting up and deploying the Rune Forge workbench. Players can add three Runes to weapons and items in the Rune Forge. However, the runes that players can add are randomly selected from the pool.
Adding Runes also requires Essence, a common material obtained by defeating enemies, collecting materials, and destroying structures. Players can spend Essence to replicate runes in the Rune Forge.
Thus, reading a Rune Tome expands the available pool of Runes that can be attached to weapons and items.
How to Find (and Use) Prop Toms in LEGO Fortnite

Finding Prop Tomes is a bit more complicated, as they seem to drop from several sources, but are considerably rarer. Prop Tomes can drop from the same gold chests as Rune Tomes; but they don't fall often.
According to Banzai2469 on Reddit, they can also spawn in chests in other areas, such as Pirate Camps and Grottos. One particularly fun interaction that some players have noted is feeding Roasted Clomberries to a giant Clombo that has a low chance of spitting out a Prop Tome when fed.
The main issue is that players have to research far and wide to find Prop Tomes, as they spawn from many different sources, but the overall drop rate is pretty low.
As you read, Prop Tomes provides a random plan for one of the many pieces of furniture in the Salt Sea Harbor set. This set contains a wide variety of layouts, including pirate-themed buildings and a large selection of pirate-themed furniture items. Given how popular pirates are in Lost Isles, this gives players the chance to build fun themed towns with themed furniture for maximum immersion.
Fortunately, most players will find that Rune Tomes are more important to their overall survival in the Lost Isles. Prop Tome decorations are nice to have, but like most cosmetic content in LEGO Fortnitethey are ultimately irrelevant. Their rarity means that players will be successful in finding them when sharing LEGOs Fortnite world with friends who can join the quest for these incredibly rare items.
