As you travel with your party in Baldur’s Gate 3, you’ll encounter many unique events and characters and find that there is normally more than one way to resolve a situation. You’ll also across come across many unique items, and you might not necessarily be aware of all the ways in which they can be used.

One of these items is the Owlbear Egg, which you might stumble across in the Owlbear Cave. If you’re not sure what to do with this item, there are a few different options available. Here’s what you need to know.

Where To Find The Owlbear Egg
The Owlbear Egg can, unsurprisingly, be found in the Owlbear Cave. You can reach the cave by travelling to (X:83, Y:450), to the west of the Emerald Grove Environs waypoint.
Inside the cave, the egg can be found at (X:-357, Y-112), but you’ll have to kill the owlbear to claim it.
Make sure you don’t kill the owlbear cub, as you can then later invite it back to your camp. We have a full guide on this here.
What Can You Do With The Owlbear Egg?
Once you’ve got the egg, you might wonder where it is in your inventory. You can find it under the ‘Camp Supplies’ category.
There are three things you can do with the Owlbear Egg, depending on which will serve your needs the most:
Use It To Trick Lady Esther In The Steal A Githyanki Egg Quest
If you undertake the ‘Steal a Githyanki Egg’ quest, you’ll be tasked with nabbing a Githyanki egg from the nearby creche. However, instead, you can use the Owlbear Egg to either trick or convince Lady Esther and still earn your reward.
Sell It For A Profit
The Owlbear Egg sells for 750 Gold, which is a decent sum for something you stole from a dead owlbear. This is likely the best use for the egg unless you’re playing your character’s personality a certain way and don’t wish to steal a real Githyanki egg.
Use It As A Camp Supply
You can use the Owlbear Egg as a camp supply when resting. Although the egg alone is enough to fill your camping supply requirement to rest, this would really be a waste of the item, so we do not recommend you do this.
