I finally realized that Wonder Woman's best love interest was Steve Trevor (not Superman)

Summary

  • Wonder Woman: The Dead Earth
Steve shows why Trevor is an epic love interest for Diana.
  • Wonder Woman's love for humanity is one of her main character traits.
  • Wonder Woman: The Dead Earth
It reveals that Steve is bound by Diana's love for humanity.

I may not be the greatest Wonder Woman and Superman shipper, but I've always believed that if Diana was with any man, Man of Steel would be a better choice than Steve Trevor. This is mainly because I have long thought that Diana and Steve's relationship was flat and unremarkable. However, a recent DC Black Label book finally revealed to me that Steve Trevor is actually an epic love interest for Wonder Woman.

Wonder Woman's love for humanity is a core part of her character, and the fact that Steve inspires this deep love makes it clear that he is indeed her one true love.

Daniel Warren Johnson and Mike Spicer's Wonder Woman: The Dead Earth the series follows Princess Diana, who awakens from her centuries-long slumber to find her friends long gone and Earth a post-apocalyptic wasteland.

Wonder Woman Dead Earth #1 Steve Trevor

Even though her loved ones have died, flashbacks and Wonder Woman's memories keep these characters alive in the narrative, offering a deep character study of the Amazonian warrior. Among those mentioned in his memoirs is Steve Trevor. Although its existence is limited by memories, this description finally convinced me that Steve was indeed Diana's greatest love— something no comic has ever accomplished before.

Steve Trevor Is The Main Reason I Love Wonder Woman – His Unwavering Love For Humanity

Wonder Woman and Steve Trevor Romance DC

In Wonder Woman: The Dead Earth #1, Diana is betrayed and captured by the very people she was trying to help. One of these people, Dee, visits him because of his guilt. During this trip, Wonder Woman reveals that she doesn't blame Dean for her betrayal because he “loves” his. Dee is understandably stunned and confused by the statement, prompting Wonder Woman to tell Steve Trevor how she has a crush on him. He explains that his love for her has turned into a deep compassion for all mankindeven when he was arrested and betrayed.

Diana explains what made her fall in love with Steve: “I was struck by what I saw in his eyes. Part fear, part curiosity, part kindness. I saw in his eyes that he was ready to try new things like a child.” I also couldn't help but fall a little bit in love with Steve while reading this, especially since I know it was because of him that Diana fell in love with humanity as she later explained to Dee. Wonder Woman's love for humanity is a core part of her character, and the fact that Steve inspires this deep love makes it clear that he is indeed her one true love.

I would love to see Tom King bring Diana to continue her love for Steve and Humanity. Wonder Woman Run away

Tom King's portrayal of Wonder Woman and Steve Trevor's relationship in the ongoing comic is remarkable and offers a fresh and nuanced exploration of their dynamic. However, I believe there is untapped potential to deepen this portrayal by incorporating the reasons Diana articulates. Dead Earth To the main continuity for his love for Steve. King deftly portrays Trevor as an important source of strength for Diana, but to fully capture the essence of their bond, it's important to highlight the qualities that initially attracted them. Wonder Woman to her – her fear, her curiosity, her kindness, and how these helped Diana fall in love with humanity as a whole.
