Warning! This post contains SPOILERS for Batman: The Last Halloween #1
Batman's the new sequel Long Halloween may be seeking to transform the history-making events of the original story. Released after 27 years Batman: The Last Halloween The Holiday Killer continues the dark story of organized crime in Gotham City, the tragedy of Harvey Dent, and the rise of Batman's more fantastical villains. To that end, I am confident enough Last Halloween intends to reverse the massive status quo change that defined the first chapter.
After the original Long Halloween By Jeph Loeb and Tim Sale, Batman: Dark Victory and Catwoman: When in Rome created as parallel sequels. Now Jeph Loeb is back Batman: The Last Halloween With a collection of artists paying tribute to the late Tim Sale, who died in 2022. As it turns out Batman: The Last Halloween #1A new copycat killer using Holiday's trademarks has emerged in Gotham. Likewise, I was convinced by the specific goals and main character returning to Gotham Last Halloween the original story pushes back against the history-making events.
Known as “The Good Son”, Mario Falcone has returned to Gotham City as one of the last surviving members of his former crime family (which makes me pretty suspicious).
Last Halloween Already Feels Like Falcone's Revenge
Feast, executioner, now Mario?
In Long HalloweenSeveral members of the Falcons are killed by the Holiday Killer, who turns out to be Carmine Falcone's own son, Alberto. Likewise, Sofia Falcone, Carmine's daughter, became the Executioner Dark Victory, Targeted GCPD members associated with Harvey Dent (Carmine's killer) while still DA (before Sal Maroni disfigured him and he became Two-Face). now, Last Halloween It happens to bring Mario Falcone back to Gotham, just as a new copycat targets key people who are integral to the downfall of the Holiday family.
After that first issue alone, Jim Gordon's son was kidnapped and Catwoman disappeared on Halloween night, leaving behind only her Holiday trademarks (a .22 and a pumpkin celebrating the occasion). Likewise, Solomon Grundy, Two-Face, and Dent's wife Gilda were attacked by a group of thugs wearing clown masks as a means of framing the Joker. so that I wouldn't be surprised if Mario is behind all these kidnappings and attacks, and decides to make a game of great revenge.
The original Long Halloween was about Gotham's Changing Crime Landscape
Dawn of the Freaks from Batman's Rogues Gallery
This is important to note Long Halloween It is an integral story of the Batman mythos. Not only does it feature Harvey Dent's transformation into Two-Face, but it also sees traditional organized crime diminish in favor of The Dark Knight's more colorful and fantastical villains, including The Joker, Poison Ivy, Solomon Grundy, Scarecrow, and more. The year-long efforts of the Holiday Killer, known collectively as “the freaks” by the Falcones, fueled this new status quo shift for Gotham. as both the Falcons and the Maroni crime families suffered heavy losses.
Long Halloween It was the morning of the “freaks” in Batman's rogues gallery, and therefore one of the most famous. Batman all-time series. There's a reason so many of #13 have been adapted in various ways for other Batman media, including Christopher Nolan's. The Dark Knight trilogy and Matt Reeves Batman (and now closed penguin the series is currently airing on Max). However, I think this new conclusion may try to change the outcome of the conflict between Gotham's organized crime and its “outsiders”.
Last Halloween May Try to Flip the Script
Back to Organized Crime Blaming “Freaks”?
As seen in the end Last Halloween #1the lead clown unmasks Gilda Dent to question Holiday and her role in the murders. After all, Gilda has long been the prime suspect Long Halloween Holiday Killer, admitting in his personal monologue that he was the original Holiday before Alberto or Two-Face (though accounts and confessions are intentionally vague). So there's more to these clowns than meets the eye.
Last Halloween
may finally reveal the whole truth about the holiday, while at the same time trying to push back against changing the basic status quo
Long Halloween
Brought to Gotham in Batman's early days.
Although the identity of the robber remains obscure for the readers, I'm pretty sure it's probably Mario who wants to take the blame and go to war with “freaks” like the Joker.. as Last Halloween continues, I wouldn't be surprised if Mario Falcone tries to restore the Crime Family to its former glory, while simultaneously trying to destroy everyone (both heroes and villains) who have hurt his family in the past. Anyway, Last Halloween may finally reveal the whole truth about the holiday, while at the same time trying to push back against changing the basic status quo Long Halloween Brought to Gotham in Batman's early days.
