Pokemon Go: December Eggs-Pedition Access Guide

Here’s everything you need to know about Pokemon Go’s Eggs-pedition Access, a new monthly purchasable ticket!

Like previous Catch Mastery events in Pokemon Go, this will only be a one-day event, taking place on Saturday, December 9, from 10am local time to 8pm local time. Below you can find information on each aspect of this event, including featured Pokemon, bonuses, research, and potential rewards.

Event Bonuses

Pokemon Go Throw Circles

Throughout this ten-hour event, there will be two different notable bonuses available to all players.

First, like previous Catch Mastery events, you will receive twice the XP when you catch Pokemon using Nice, Great, or Excellent Throws. With catches from Excellent Throws already awarding you 1,000 XP, it’s worth taking your time and attempting this precise throw, awarding you with tons of XP throughout this event.

To maximize the XP you receive from this bonus, use the Lucky Egg item throughout this event, multiplying the XP that you earn by two for thirty minutes.

This multiplier will stack on top of the double XP bonuses for this Catch Mastery event.

For the second bonus of this Catch Mastery event, you will have an increased chance of encountering the Shiny versions of the three featured Pokemon for this event; Snorunt, Bergmite, and Cryogonal. This will be the first time that you will be able to encounter Shiny Cryogonal in Pokemon Go.

Wild Encounters

There will only be two ice-themed wild encounter Pokemon with increased spawn rates for this event: Snorunt and Bergmite. With these two Pokemon being relatively rare and having increased Shiny odds, make sure you take advantage of their appearance in this event.

For the free Timed Research, available to all players during this event, you will be required to catch different Ice-type Pokemon. Doing so and completing the different tasks for this research will reward you with up to 40 Cryogonal encounters.

The Paid Timed Research will cost $2.00 USD, and is available for purchase at the Pokemon Go in-game shop. This Timed Research is exactly the same as the free version, providing you with an additional 40 Cryogonal encounters through its rewards.
