Developer Inflexion Games has closed its UK office completely, as expected previously announced by now former staff last week.
In the declarationCEO Aaryn Flynn explained the Early Access release of her debut game Nightingale it was not a commercial success. In addition to letting go of “some amazing team members,” Flynn said Inflexion's Canadian team will undergo restructuring.
“The last few weeks here have been challenging,” Flynn admitted. “Like many other studios in recent years, we have been hit by the harsh realities of the industry. […] Our priority is to support each team member affected by the reductions as they seek new opportunities.”
Prior to The one about the nightingale launch, Inflexion was acquired by Tencent in 2022. The studio has focused all its attention on the fantasy survival game, including the possibility of making it played offline at some point in the game's life. Flynn said more information about future updates to the game will be provided “soon.”
“I hope our players will join me in expressing heartfelt thanks to the departing team members for all their contributions,” he concluded.
