Jodie Foster gives rare update on her two children People During the 76th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards.
The legendary actor, who won his first Emmy award last night, True Detective: Night CountryHe has sons Charlie, 26, and Kit, 22, with his ex-wife Cydney Bernard.
Foster admitted that both of her sons were “at an age where they were starting their careers and were quite insecure about what they were going to be.” While Charlie followed in his mother's footsteps into acting, Kit does not share the same aspirations.
But despite the tough times in their 20s, Foster found much to celebrate in her sons' lives. “Every time they experience joy, like when I get an 'A' or when I get this job or when I get an audition, my heart fills up 14 times because I get to remember a beautiful career of doing meaningful work, and I know that's the recipe for happiness. So I'm excited for them, excited for the future,” she enthused.
While Kit kept her professional ambitions private within the family, Foster said: More Let's go back to 2007, when Charlie expressed his long-standing desire to act in films.[He’ll say] “'I want to be in movies. Why can't you find me a job?'” the Oscar-winning actress recalled. “Then I say, 'You have to earn it. If you want to be an actor, you can start by doing a little theater.' Then she says, 'I'm not interested in that. I just want to be famous and see my face.'”
Foster says talent runs in the family People He said neither Charlie nor Kit were very interested in watching their mother's work. “They're not interested in watching my movies with me,” he admitted. “I think they'll catch on True Detective“Because they're really into it.
