John Cena steps into scene-stealing big-screen comedy in the Amy Schumer-directed film. Train wreck In 2015, he performed not only his first sex scene in a movie, but also a very awkward one. Still, Cena says the moment pales in comparison to another high-profile gig earlier this year.
The 47-year-old actress opened up about the intricacies of on-screen intimacy in the latest episode of Shannon Sharpe Club Shay Shay podcast this week. When asked if filming the sex scenes was “hard,” Cena exclaimed, “Oh my God, this is the worst!”
“Here's the thing. Right now, people at home think this is just our job. No! There's a whole world out here,” the soon-to-be-retired WWE star explained, gesturing to the camera crew filming the segment, which apparently isn't all that different from a movie shoot.
“You just need so many people to make a movie. There's nothing genuine about it,” Cena noted. “Nothing. I mean, it's really embarrassing. And then on top of that, to do a funny sex scene, you know, making fun of yourself? Really [said] “'Try to have the weirdest sex possible.' Okay? And with an audience watching it. It's different. I don't want to say it's terrible, but it's different than what you all think.”
Sharpe then interjected to ask which was weirder, the sex scene Train wreck or his viral Oscar moment in March when he appeared nearly naked on stage at the awards ceremony. Cena didn’t flinch.

“The Oscars. Because I've gotten all the people behind the camera, any production, but then I get up in front of a room of my colleagues, many of whom I've never met because I haven't worked to meet them,” he continued. “The most awarded actors, producers, directors are in a room, and I'll walk up there with my balls flapping in the wind, an index card covering my stuff, saying, 'Hey guys, is this funny? Are we good? Are we good?'”
“How did they convince you to do this?” Sharpe asked incredulously, to which Cena added: “It was funny. Jimmy Kimmel called me personally and said, 'I want you to come to the Oscars.'”

Although Cena was initially hesitant to commit because he was between projects and needed time to recharge, Kimmel was able to convince him otherwise. “He said, 'Let me send you the piece.' And he put it down on paper, and I called him back, 'When do you need me there?'
“And I honestly thought I'd be more naked. I was expecting a full-on penis and testicles, but this is Disney, so they put tape over my ass crack and stuff,” Cena explained. “That was even more embarrassing. Going out with a taped-up asshole? Hard.”
But Cena realizes it only works because he's fully committed. “I didn't think, 'I'm gonna do it, but I shouldn't do it, or can I wear shorts or something?' No, man, I want to wear my watch and my Birkenstocks and that's it.”
Needless to say, this part definitely got people talking. And while Cena said the money “wasn't good,” in the end, it was worth the apparent humiliation to perform in front of his peers.
