Warning: Contains SPOILERS for Blood Hunt #5!Doctor Strange is practically synonymous with the title Sorcerer Supreme in Marvel Comics, despite being far from the only magic-user to carry that mantle. Strange has proven time and time again that he is not only the most popular Sorcerer Supreme, but he is quite powerful even compared to his predecessors. However, Marvel Comics just got a new “Superior” Sorcerer Supreme, and he's actually better than Doctor Strange for a very thought-provoking reason.
In Blood Hunt #5 by Jed MacKay and Pepe Larraz, the Avengers face Varnae (the first vampire to wield the Blade) and his Bloodcoven in a final, epic battle to decide the fate of the entire world. However, little do they know that the real battle for Earth's soul is taking place behind the scenes as Doctor Strange and Clea attempt to destroy Varna from afar with powerful magic. And to do that, Doctor Strange had to give up the title of Sorcerer Supreme to someone else: Doctor Doom.
Only Doctor Doom knew a spell that could defeat Varna once and for all, and he used that knowledge to gain the title of Sorcerer Supreme and all the power-ups that come with it. A man of his word, Doctor Doom used his newfound position to save the world. However, after the world was saved, Doom retained the title of Doctor Strange. And now, Doom is the current Wizard of the Marvel Universe, and honestly, he's perfect for the job.

Doctor Doom is a master of Science and Magic, He is the Best Wizard
THE GODS By Jonathan Hickman and Valerio Schiti
As has been firmly established throughout the history of Marvel Comics, Doctor Doom is a master of science and a powerful magic user. In fact, the combination of magic and technology is one of the main reasons why Doom is so unbeatable as a Marvel villain (especially in the early days of his career in the Fantastic Four comics). With his proven brilliance, Doom has shown time and time again that he is a master of science, and now that he is the Sorcerer Supreme, Doom has finally become a master of magic as well.
Doom is the perfect choice to be the Sorcerer Supreme because of his understanding of the nature of the Universe as depicted here. THE GODS He explained that the universe consists of two opposing but symbiotic forces: magic and science. These are the pillars that hold all of reality, and now as the Sorcerer Supreme, Doctor Doom has a 100% understanding of how the Marvel Universe works. This makes him an ideal choice over the likes of Stephen Strange, who doesn't have nearly the same level of scientific brilliance as Doom.
Doctor Doom may be on his way to becoming a Multiversal Villain
Doctor Doom is on the same track as Multiversal Villain: Doom Supreme
While Doctor Doom may be the perfect Sorcerer Supreme on paper, given that he understands all that makes up the Marvel Universe and is an effective master of both pillars of reality, he's a villain. Not only that, but now, Doctor Doom has achieved what another Doom from a separate reality achieved before he left for the multiverse: Doom Supreme. This means Earth-616's Doctor Doom himself could be well on his way to becoming a versatile villain, succeeding where Doom Supreme failed.
Indeed, now that Doctor Doom is the Sorcerer Supreme, the entire Marvel Multiverse isn't safe, especially since he made it clear at the end of Blood Hunt that he has big plans for the future of the world as he wields god-level power. However, his malevolence aside, he's still the best logical choice for the Sorcerer Supreme, as his mastery of magic and science makes him even better than him. Doctor Strange.
