McDonald's Miniatures One of Its Iconic Menu Items

McDonald's announced in a press release that it will be adding a miniature version of an iconic fan-favorite item to its menu for the fall season.

Starting September 10, McDonald's fans in the United States can get their hands on a “Mini McFlurry,” which is exactly what it sounds like. For those looking to enjoy the iconic Golden Arches dessert without all the calories of a full-sized Flurry, now's your day. The animated snack will be available in classic Oreo and M&M flavors, as well as limited-edition flavors like the Kit Kat Banana Split.

“Have a friend who always wants 'just a bite'?” the phrase was questioned. “Instead of grabbing an extra spoonful, you could get them their own Mini McFlurry. Or maybe you're looking for a quick pick-me-up in the afternoon – the Mini McFlurry is perfect for you too.”

The chain is also making a slight change to its McFlurry offering, removing the domed plastic top lids and switching to a “more environmentally friendly four-lid cup that will help reduce waste and advance our goal of sourcing 100% of primary guest packaging from renewable, recycled or certified materials by the end of 2025,” McDonald's announced. The new cups are making their debut in the Americas after being introduced in international markets like Canada and Indonesia.

“Packaging updates like this are important,” said Michael Gonda, the chain’s senior vice president and chief impact officer for North America. “Not only is this a fun new way for our U.S. fans to enjoy a McFlurry, it also brings us one step closer to meeting our packaging and waste commitments.”

Head to your participating McDonald's location on September 10 to try the new Mini McFlurry.
