Officials in Los Angeles had their hands full, to say the least, after the Dodgers beat the New York Yankees on Wednesday night to capture the team's eighth World Series championship in franchise history and first since 2020. Looters ransacked stores in the streets and once set fire to a subway bus.
The Los Angeles Police Department said a “hostile mob” surrounded an MTA bus in the Echo Park neighborhood near Sunset Boulevard around 12:30 a.m. Thursday and tried to set it on fire. Unruly fans were seen tagging the outside with spray paint and climbing on top of the bus before it burst into flames.
Images that have since surfaced on social media from the Film The Police LA A few fans chanted “Come on, Dodgers!” He was heard chanting the slogan. Even if the wailing of fire trucks can be heard in the distance.
At approximately two minutes and 15 seconds into the video, the bus suddenly exploded, causing the crowd to cheer and celebrate. Within minutes there was nothing left but a charred crust.

The city is planning a parade to celebrate the Super Bowl victory, starting at City Hall on Friday. Here's hoping the parade aftermath is less eventful than the game itself.
