An official tabletop role-playing game based on the 1999 Neopets website is on the way.
Neopets is a website that allows players to “adopt” and interact with virtual creatures. When the website first launched, players could create their own Neopet, a creature that could be made up of any number of features, such as dragon wings, bird beaks, and fur. Players could care for their digital pets within the world of Neotopia: this included making sure they were fed, treating any illnesses, playing with them, and even customizing them with various accessories and clothing.
Players could also interact with other people's Neopets within Neopia by visiting different parts of the virtual world (each with a different theme, such as pirates and dinosaurs) to visit shops, play games, and ride rides. Neopets could also battle each other or non-player-controlled Neopets within the Battledome, and players could spend an in-game currency called Neopoints within a player-designed living economy.

The Neopets website remains in operation, now under the control of World of Neopia Inc., and players are able to adopt and interact with their own virtual pet, as well as other players' Neopets. In addition to the standard Neopets, there are now other Neopets games, such as a match-3 style game called Neopets: Faerie's Hope, Neopets: Tales of Dacardia (a survival exploration title), and a 3D simulation game called World of Neopets.
The official Neopets tabletop RPG, to be published by Geekify, is about to launch a crowdfunding campaign to celebrate the website’s 25th anniversary this year. The upcoming tabletop RPG will be a dice-based title where players will primarily use a D20 gaming system to embark on adventures.

Unlike many other tabletop RPGs, players will create their characters using a classless system that focuses on offering feats that players can choose from, which can then be used as skills. Players can explore the world of Neopia and experience the “fun and wacky” gameplay mechanics. Along with the core rules, several campaign modules will be released for the upcoming RPG – the first of these will be the Fall of Faerieland.
The crowdfunding campaign for the tabletop role-playing game Neopets will launch on Kickstarter on May 31.
