National Lampoon's Vacation 41 years after the release of Harold Ramis' classic road trip comedy, star Chevy Chase reunited with his scene-stealing co-star Christie Brinkley for a sweet photoshoot.
On Aug. 26, Chase, 80, and Brinkley, 70, shared a joint Instagram post featuring a carousel of three photos and a video. Two photos show Chase and Brinkley smiling at fans while sitting side by side in the backseat of a car. Another shows the stars embracing in another location. In the accompanying video, Chase and Brinkley wave at the camera.
“Vacation always ends too soon! 🏎️,” Brinkley captioned the post.
Brinkley takes on one of the most memorable roles Holiday although she is credited only as “The Girl in the Ferrari.” Chase's character flirts with Brinkley during a cross-country road trip while his wife (Beverly D'Angelo) is asleep in the passenger seat. Later in the film, Brinkley and Chase meet at the same hotel, share a drink, and later go skinny-dipping.
Fans were excited to see both of them Holiday alumni reunited, with some even suggesting a late-season sequel. “Wait, is this a sequel?” @mcd.joel jokingly asked. “Did Clark finally take her in the Ferrari?”
“This is awesome. Maybe a sequel? Let's see 'Holiday Road,'” @paulamcquien said of the iconic Lindsey Buckingham track that plays throughout the album. Holiday.
