New developer Chamo Games formed by former students of IO Interactive and Ubisoft Massive

A new study called Chamo Games was formed in Sweden. Founded by former IO Interactive COO Zoher Toutanji and Plarium Creative Director Roberto Schiavulli, the team is distributed remotely across Europe, Brazil, Canada, and North and South Korea.

From a financial standpoint, Chamo can count on the support of important companies such as Griffin Gaming Partners, Sisu Ventures and Lakestar.

In addition to the founders, its collaborators also include the CTO David Lindexecutive producer Stephanie Pecaocodesigner Bastian Wendzinskiand artistic director Silvia DybiecThe first three worked at Massive Entertainment, while Dybiec worked at Crytek and Square Enix.

The studio is already working on its first project, a “non-lethal” first-person shooter. Its complex declaration of intent is to create games that focus on fostering a “supportive and positive environment” for both developers and players.

Schiavulli further emphasized this in the press release, stating that the team would “deliver games that prioritize player enjoyment and team well-being.”

Chamo Games is not currently hiring for specific roles, but has encouraged interested parties to apply to.
