NFT Game Developer Midnight Society Makes 'Major' Layoffs After 'Unexpected' Challenges

Midnight Society, the studio behind the NFT shooter Fall, Last week, it laid off an unspecified number of employees.

News of the layoffs surfaced on social media over the weekend, with a senior environmental artist Tyler Moore's World saying it was “one of many” affected. The study later confirmed the “significant reduction in the workforce” at PC Gamer.

In its statement, Midnight Society attributed the layoffs to “multiple unexpected challenges” in recent months. It also said the cuts were made to “strengthen our foundation and refocus on our core mission.”

The Midnight Society was founded in 2021 from studio head Robert Bowling, creative director Quinn DelHoyo, and streamer Guy “Dr. Disrespect” Beahm. As PCGamer pointed out, much of Fall It was built around Beahm's online personality and his passion for the extraction shooter genre.
